terri's teases order

I had posted back in March a lovely peacock inspired card drawer/ box that I had created for a special order on my Etsy shop. This customer contacted me again and asked for a special wedding themed box for her daughter. It needed to be blue with lace and pretty and such. Talk about fun!!

I stitched some lace all along the top of the box before I started assembling it. As you can see in the background, the next step was attaching some pearl-ish white seed beads along the edge of the lace.

Here is the top of the box once I had finished. I purchased the lace on the front of the box from Joann's and it worked out perfectly!! You can see all those seed beads along the edge on the top.

etsy custom order- peacock theme

Well hello there! Very long time, no see from me!! Oh the shame. I would love to say it was because I have been crafting and creating but nope, just being plain ole lazy and not blogging. Hanging my head.

I have created two custom card drawer boxes for an Etsy customer. She loved the first one so much she ordered a second one. Love when that happens. She wanted a peacock colored box in which to store cards and letters etc so with that in mind I knew I would need some good weight cardstock as well as reinforcing the box itself with chipboard. I also learned that if you add chipboard to the box, you will need to shrink the drawer down just a smidge or it won't slide in and out so nice. Good thing I always buy an extra sheet or cardstock to cover myself!! :)

I was over the moon when I got to Michaels and discovered this amazing peacock paper! Seriously, how could I not use it? It was a great weight and worked up so nicely. Plus it had all the colors my customer and I had discussed and it was blingy!! oh yeah. Here is the card drawer box opened.

Here is the box closed. I love the teals and purples of that paper!! So dreamy to work with.

 And here is a shot of the top of the box. oh yes I went there with the extra bling! I used my Sizzix dies to cut the hearts and used a small punch for the smallest hearts. I used rhinestones that I glued by hand because I totally didn't trust the ones with adhesive on them to stick to the textured paper. I pop dotted a few of the hearts to give it some dimension.

Then came the hard part, trusting the postal service with my creation! I was so afraid it would be smashed in transit but it was not (whew) and the customer LOVED it!! Which made me a very happy lady. She loved it so much she ordered another one for her daughter for her wedding. I will post that one tomorrow. Promise.

terri's treasures samples

I am working very hard on my orders from my card party. I lost a few days when I was hit with a cold. And hit me it did. I was wiped out. Stuffy, chills, runny nose, cough, hot flashes and some aches and pains thrown in for good measure. I seem to be on the upswing and can manage to sit at my desk for longer than a minute which is helpful when creating!

Sharing some samples I made for the card party. This is a card drawer box that I love to make. It holds about eight cards with their envelopes. Could probably get ten inside as long as they were flat. I made this one out of a heavy pattern paper. I think it is a Basic Grey but can't remember. It is very pretty with the greens.

This is my card box that I totally love doing. It can hold eight cards and are so much fun to make. I made this one out of Basic Grey and yes I remember that since I LOVE the paper. I don't have a link to the instructions. I wrote them out from a video I think. I'll have to see if I can find it again.

And the card purse. These are great too!! These can hold from ten to sixteen cards. Again it depends on how thick the cards end up being. I believe this is Basic Grey paper. As you can see I went on a Basic Grey binge and picked up many greens. I guess I will have to change my favorite color to green instead of purple. :)

Off to work on orders. I am getting into the groove and need to get working.

another order for terri's treasures!

Just hanging out at school pick up and I got an order!! How wonderful is that? Of course when she asked for my website I did not have any of my business cards on me and my website has a HUGE LONG address.  No I am not complaining as it is a FREE hosting site and I like free. It is just easier to hand people a card and let them go from there.

She wanted two card drawers for Christmas presents. oh how I love people who plan ahead. Stress is not something I like and I had so much fun making these drawers for her. Did a double medallion flower for the first one with pearl bling.

Pretty easy to get these done which makes me happy as I love giving things to my customers. Happy inside warm fuzzy feelings. I am glad I started terri's treasures. Thanks to everyone for the push.

school office end of the year gifts

My life as a PTA president would have been much rougher if not for the help of three ladies in the school office. They helped so much and I am eternally grateful to each and everyone of them. Besides a lifetime of servitude, I thought a nice little box of monogrammed cards would be a lovely gift to end the year. Plus I had such a great time making the cards for the PTA helpers... why not??

I found this tutorial for a card drawer on Splitcoaststampers dot com and thought it would be pretty fun to make. The best part, it was pretty simple as well! Always a good thing when I am making more than one of something.

I used my border punches on the pattern paper strips as well as the medallion flower. Then I dug into my bling container and added a little personality to the flowers. Love how the pearls look!

I used two sketches I dug out of my sketch binder for all the cards. Makes it easier on me to do that. I embossed the papers to give a little bit more to the cards and each has a monogram for the ladies they were created for. I used the Sizzlits Monkey Tails and Aphrodite for the letters. (I am not endorsing any of the sites that I am linking as I have not purchased from them and know nothing of their customer service, I wanted to show what the alphabets looked like)

Here are the boxes all packaged and ready to be delivered. I have a couple more weeks but very happy it is all done.

I have two teacher gifts and two girl scout leader gifts to get done as well. But I need a run to Michaels before I can do much with those. Can't wait to share the completed projects!
