party for a thirteen year old

Yup. Somehow I have managed to raise myself a female human being to the ripe old age of thirteen!! Amazing!

We are having a sleepover this Friday to celebrate this achievement. I dug out some new stamps and went to work.

The top and bottom purple swirl is from a Studio G $1 stamp set in my stash, and the party information is a stamp I picked up at Michaels by Delta/ Rubber Stampede. Perfection!

I used my new Paper Smooches Spectrum stamps and dies for the unicorn and cloud as well as the small hearts I stamped. The shadow under the unicorn is from the Paper Smooches Shadows stamp set. I didn't have any gray ink so I stamped off the image once and then stamped it on the front of the card. The party! sentiment is from a Studio G $1 stamp set from my stash.

Kira colored in each unicorn in different colors using her colored pencils. Sorry for the blurry images I have no idea what happened! They all looked so crisp when I was taking the pictures!!

I added two different clear glitters from my Stickles collection. I have thought about getting a Wink of Stella glitter pen but with my LARGE Stickles collection I have a hard time justifying that purchase at this time. I placed some Stickles on one of my acrylic blocks and used a paint brush to apply the Stickles. Tried to keep the glitter from being too thick and lumpy that way.

The cute smile face comes in the Spectrum stamp set and I love how it looks on the cloud!! I popped the cloud up with some foam tape. I used some purple spray ink from Recollections- purple shimmer on the background which came out so cool!!

All of these invitations were handed out and we are going to a FULL house of teenagers this Friday. Hoping Kira's room can handle that much estrogen for the night. Gonna be a great night.

you are invited

To look at these fun Halloween party invitations I created for an amazing lady I know. I love challenges and that is what these were. She wanted something simple and cute Halloween not scary Halloween. I saw these papers and knew I was hooked!! Too bad I didn't buy enough of them!! Augh! I calculated wrong in my head. Lesson learned. Write down the amounts before heading out to the store. Not saying they didn't work out, but not exactly as planned. :)

This first one there are three of these. I love the double sided goodness that is these papers. Yummy!!

These are the ones that I messed up on the quantity of paper. There are six of this invite. But like I said, I like them both so much!!

And here is the insert all ready to be filled in. I had to use many different Studio G dollar stamps to get this. I do believe I need to invest in an invitation stamp for the future. Not that this didn't work and it didn't really take that long, but I think it could be easier.

Orange gingham ribbon was from my stash and has been here for quite awhile! I put a piece of orange cardstock on the back of the pocket to cover my less than wonderful stitching. I could not get the tension right to save my life. It looked fine on the front but the back was a nightmare (definitely headed for the scary Halloween) Plus adding the cardstock helped with the fact that the pattern paper was upside down from being folded in half. Next time I know what I will do different. So I guess it is all good in the long run.

I am now all done with my orders and will be bored if I don't get any soon. Seriously... going to work on some of my own stuff for a bit. It will be a nice change.

May your day be as wonderful as a party!!

sybill has work!

A friend of mine sent me a link to a card she was wondering if I could make for her son's upcoming dinosaur birthday party. The hardest part for me was finding an egg shape that would work!! I found one at the Silhouette site and before I could download it, I had to upgrade my software since it has been so stinking long since poor Sybill was running!!

I must say the upgrade was a wonderful improvement on how I had been doing things with her and I may even keep her uncovered and use her!! Seriously so much more user friendly than before.

Anywho... this is the invite test sample that I showed to her and the birthday boy. He loved it!! He didn't even want me to take it back so I could use it to create the others.

Below the eyes will say Ryan is 3 or something like that when I get my act together. I was so tired I couldn't even see straight so I skipped that part but told her it would be on there. I am also going to print up the information on the back of the card. It is a 4X6 size so perfect for the envelopes that I have on hand.

I also purchased a cutting file for a triceratops birthday treat box. OH MY GOSH! It is so adorable. I whipped one up to show her and I gave it to her son since he was not gonna let that go!! Glad he liked it.

I have been cutting all the pieces and parts today in between picking up kids, dinner and bedtime. I have to do the printing tomorrow but I am very happy with how all the pieces are coming together. I'll get myself a little assembly line and crank these out.

Sybill is quite happy to be of use and I am so happy that I have my first order with my new business!! Woohoo! I'll post the finished products when they are done. I just love the eyes peeking out of this!!

Hope everyone who peeks at you gets a big smile!!
