disney disney disney (2008 trip)

And it continues!! More layouts from our 2008 Walt Disney World trip. I thought I had posted these but I seem to have forgotten to do it. They have been done for awhile, I lost track of them. I am loving doing this trip as the kids were so small!! Kira was six and Alex was two. I also notice that during this trip, I didn't get too many pictures of Alex. Probably because he spent much of the vacation in his stroller sleeping!

Lots of DCWV papers, stickers, Sizzix Sizzlits for the fonts, gems, brads, stamping, twine, Disney themed papers I picked up at Disney, punches, border punches, Mickey head scissors, and washi tapes.

Enjoy!!

you say it's your birthday

I have been severely lacking in the making of birthday cards. I don't know why, but I have. Then comes a request to see my birthday cards and I have none to show. I mean... major eeek!!

I grabbed a package of prefolds with envies and went to work. I would like to say I whipped out the following twenty-five cards in a few days but it took more like weeks to get them all done. I did manage to get about twelve done to show and sell. The rest I finally completed last night. Next time don't try to create so many cards all at once!

New stamp set in action here (new as in sitting around forever and finally managed to drag it into the light of day) I stamped the honeycomb on the yellow hexagons with versamark ink to give the tone on tone look. The bee and the sentiment are both heat embossed with detail embossing powder. I added some glossy accents to the bees wings. The sentiment is raised with some foam squares.

Used one of my Spellbinder dies for the label to house the sentiment. Paper from a DCWV summer pack and a few blings for good measure.

Heat embossed sentiment. Fiskars border punch. Celebrate ribbon and foam squares.

Embossing folder (swiss dots) Spellbinders scallop circles, Studio G $1 stamps from Michaels, paper from DCWV and bling.

Pretty simple one here. I let the pattern paper be my sentiment.

Used a fiskars border punch to create this notebook look. White twine, bling and DCWV paper stack.

Stamp from a set I have had forever and have no clue who the manufacturer is. I didn't keep the backing paper.

Used silver detail embossing powder on this one.

This sketch/ layout was on the Operation Write Home FB page. I left off one of the elements as I didn't need a sentiment spot with this pattern paper. But I loved the look of the black matting on the next two cards.

Off to get the next group photographed for your viewing pleasure.

my little pony- rarity invite

I simply love a challenge!! Really really do. So when a friend of mine asked if I could create a My Little Pony birthday invitation which had Rarity on it, I jumped at it!! Sure why not?? Of course this was all said without having a single clue as to who the heck is this Rarity pony?! Kira never really got into the whole pony thing. She had them but they were gifts and were never played with that much. They found their way to our local Rec Center Preschool Play Group where they have been loved and loved by many children in the community. But I digress....

Not only is Rarity a little pony, nope she is a unicorn pony!! Okey dokey!! Off to the Silhouette store to find a file I could hopefully use to create this special pony. Giving up was not an option because my friend has THE CUTEST daughters who both enjoy ponies. I could not disappoint those little squeaks!!

I found a file with a pony and purchased it. Adjusted it to fit on the invitation and then hand drew into the Silhouette software the unicorn horn!! There was no way I was cutting all those horns out!!

The first photo shows Rarity in all her glory on the invitation front. I used Bazzill bling since what fun is a pony that isn't sparkly?? (no fun at all)

Here is the front after I had cut the sentiment with my Spellbinders.

And one with the flash so you can appreciate the bling of that paper!!

Backside of the invitation where my friend could write in all the information for this pony party!! I used a border punch and some of the purple bling paper for the stars.

And a pile of pony goodness ready for action!!

terri's teases order

I had posted back in March a lovely peacock inspired card drawer/ box that I had created for a special order on my Etsy shop. This customer contacted me again and asked for a special wedding themed box for her daughter. It needed to be blue with lace and pretty and such. Talk about fun!!

I stitched some lace all along the top of the box before I started assembling it. As you can see in the background, the next step was attaching some pearl-ish white seed beads along the edge of the lace.

Here is the top of the box once I had finished. I purchased the lace on the front of the box from Joann's and it worked out perfectly!! You can see all those seed beads along the edge on the top.

Little better view of the front of the drawer.

Last shot of this beautiful box. Perfect to hold wedding treasures for the bride.

ice cream flavored cows

Here are my ice cream flavored inspired cow cards. I really need to make up another couple sets of these. I love them!! Anywho, the stamp is from Paper Smooches my very most favorite stamp company at the moment (and probably for awhile) Their images are so clear and fun to color and plain old silly at times. The stamps themselves work like a dream right out of the package. LOVE THEM!! This stamp comes from the set Chubby Chums.(in case you were wondering)

Here are chocolate, blueberry, mint chocolate chip (I think he is my favorite) and bubble gum. Along with a side view of each.

Here are the last four in the set. Strawberry, creamsicle, Neapolitan, and spumoni. I had to add pistachio to the cow print since there needed to be nine cows for it to work out correctly.

Now if it wasn't so darn cold, I would think that some ice cream would be in order. But being as it is not above 20 degrees F at the moment, I'm thinking some hot chocolate would be a better bet!!

who loves lizards??

My mom!! Well not really but it is a family joke which will not die. The kids seem to be keeping it alive more than hubby or I but when I saw these adorable lizard stamps, I knew who had to have some cards created with them!!

I will let the little guys do the talking for me.

All of these cute guys are now happily residing with my mom in her Christmas present. I created her a card organizer complete with monthly dividers so she can keep track of birthdays and such. Hoping to post those pictures tomorrow for your viewing pleasure. Anywho, these little guys were so much fun to make and very colorful. I think I could learn to like lizards if they were as adorable as these!!

quick post for my friend ali

Christmas is coming rather quickly and boy do I have a ton more to do... So this will be a quick and simple post for today.

I made this card for my special friend who ran away to Canada after becoming a part of my heart over the past four years. Oh sure, use the excuse that her entire family is there and it makes her husband happy to be at home more.

What about my needs??

Geez, some people can be so selfish.
(and yes that would be me)

I found the bird cage stamp at Michaels and thought of this special lady right away. I could see it stamped and heading her way. Then I looked and there was this adorable bird stamp. How perfect!! It was like the universe aligned and said to me "yes you need those stamps". Well who am I to go against the entire universe??

Oh the best part?? The cost of both of the stamps was $1.00!! Serious on sale baby.

I stamped the cage and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. It turned out a bit too gold and not perfect. So I dug through my stash and found some metallic rub ons that worked amazingly well to 'age' the cage. That then brought me to the point of deciding the entire card needed an aged look. Inking to the rescue. I stamped the bird and popped him on the top of the cage since he needs to be free! I used some glaze pens for his beak and his eye. A bit of washi tape to create the table for the cage to sit on and some pearl bling and I called it done.

Very happy with how this turned out.

monster high layout

I had the pleasure of working with some very girly papers and such for a friend of mine. She was going to cut my hair and I was creating the following layout for her in exchange. I had to first figure out the whole Monster High thing. My Kira has not gotten into them so it was a total learning thing. Plus the specific request was for a Clawdeen Wolf. Worked out pretty well as she is dressed in purple and pink!! Right up my alley!

Here is the completed layout in all of its glory.

I used Bazzill paper and some fun specialty papers from Michaels to complete this layout. The bling I had. I did have to purchase the tiger print ribbon but it was for a good cause. I tied the tiny bows myself. I have an amazing tool to help me do that. I used my Sybill (Silhouette original) to cut the title as well as her name. I used a font which was pretty close to the Monster High one. Thanks to my friend Bobbi for helping with that!!

The layout is inspired by a PageMap and for the life of me now I cannot remember which one. But those are always a good place to start!! The claw print on the other page as well as Clawdeen and the skull head are all images I pulled from the internet and printed out on photo paper. I didn't like how it looked on regular cardstock at all. I then cut out the images to use. Clawdeen came out so darn cool. She looks like a sticker!! I used a couple of my Fiskars border punches (one on each page) and more bling!!

Happy to say that she did love these pages. Her problem now is to decide on using them for a birthday celebration or for Halloween pictures!!

paper bag album part 2 (photo heavy)

Thanks for coming back to see what I created with all those goodies from yesterdays post. Here is the cover! Isn't it just dreamy?? And it gets more and more dreamy as you go forth.

I won't do much narrating since the pictures are pretty self explanatory but when necessary I will pop in a word or two.

The file folder on the left page has extra pages sewn into it for added journaling or pictures.

The green book opens and can be seen open the coming pictures.

These are the inserts that were tucked into the pockets created by folding the paper bags.

Thanks for looking!! More fun stuff in the coming days. I am having fun finally getting these creations posted to share with everyone.
